From the moment visitors enter the facility, they are welcomed into a whimsical space complete with a marquee that has clever climbing-themed puns. As part of the Touchstone climbing gym network, The Oaks provides a positive vibe and high-quality experience consistent with other Touchstone gyms throughout the country. Despite being a long-time favorite for boulders in the vicinity, Benchmark Berkeley does not compare to The Oaks' unique atmosphere.

Families frequently plan their whole day around the Tilden Nature Area, featuring an extensive native plant garden and many interactive exhibits about wildlife found throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Sather Tower
Sather Tower is the heart of the University of California, Berkeley. The granite walls within the tower contain a hidden gem of paleontological fossils from the La Brea Tar Pits. The best part about the Campanile is the 61-bell carillon, played every day. There are two ways to ascend the Campanile; the first way is by taking an elevator to the top, and the second way is by walking up the 38 steps from the elevator to the observation platform, which will give you incredible views of the Bay when you reach the top.
Berkeley Marina
On the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay, the Berkeley Marina provides an inlet to enjoy Cesar Chavez Park’s water trails, kite-flying lawns, and unobstructed pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. Within the marina are over 1,000 berths for both sailboats and motor yachts, as well as opportunities for boat rentals, sailing lessons, and a public fishing pier extending out into San Francisco Bay. The Shorebird Park and Berkeley Meadow have quiet paths for walking and bird watching. The Adventure Playground provides a hands-on area for children.

Lawrence and features a variety of hands-on science exhibits and science activities, along with a live animal exhibit, an interactive artificial intelligence exhibit, and a giant dinosaur exhibit. Adventure Playground
Situated at the Outer Berkeley Marina, Adventure Playground is where kids create their own dreamland using tools to build their own way. It has tons of creativity built into it with hammers, saws, paints, and building materials, from recycling wood and other discarded materials. There is a zip line for kids to take off on, and there is a rope ladder, which is basically like being on a pirate ship. The staff is there to help the children and to keep them safe, but children are provided with real tools to help them learn new things.
Berkeley Municipal Rose Garden
Unlike many other gardens that sit flat on the ground, the gardens here rise in levels designed as stone terraces leading from the top to the bottom of the slopes. As a result of this unique design, you will find more than 1,500 rose bushes planted in over 250 different types of roses, with the colors changing from warm reds to pinks, yellows, and whites. From the terrace level, there is a large semi-circular pergola made of redwood timber that provides areas for guests who would like to relax and enjoy the view of both the rose garden and San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate from the terrace level. A small stream runs between the terraces, providing water to the garden's reflecting pond, while five tennis courts and a large area for picnics provide additional activity areas for people visiting the garden.
Indian Rock Park
Kicking back at Indian Rock Park, in Berkeley, CA, is truly relaxing. The park comprises a unique and engaging piece of geological and cultural history. Nestled on the Northbrae Hills of Berkeley, this compact 1.18-acre park is centered upon a huge volcanic rhyolite projecting out of the earth’s surface. On a clear day, from the top of Indian Rock, you can see all of downtown Oakland, UC Berkeley, San Francisco Bay, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Indian Rock Park also has a rich history in the grooves and pits in the rock that illustrate thousands of years of history, as the Ohlone community once used this rock to grind their acorns. In the mid-20th century, the rock became a location for rock climbers who developed new climbing techniques.
Monterey Market
Monterey Market is like walking into a rainbow-colored garden in the middle of Berkeley. There are crates full of heirloom tomatoes, wild mushrooms, fragrant citrus, and leafy greens. Locals can testify to the tremendous amount of organic products available at this store, which is frequently less expensive and of much better quality than those available at the large mega supermarkets close by.
Berkeley Repertory Theatre
The Berkeley Repertory Theatre was founded in 1968 out of a small storefront theater. The Berkeley Repertory Theatre has succeeded in getting national recognition by creating bold new works via premiering them around the country, showcasing new talent on the West Coast, and often bringing productions on to Broadway. The Berkeley Repertory Theatre operates two versatile performance spaces (the intimate Peet’s Theatre and the large Roda Theatre), and educates thousands per year through its theatre school.
